9:29

I walked into the church
Like I was walking in a supermarket
Eyes peering, staring, and leering
Coat off, I decided to park it
I made my appeal, started to kneel
And the kneeler crashed down to the ground
It resonated, the church was not jaded
The Arc Angels could hear the echoing sound
Rosary in hand, whispering prayers known to man
I knelt for 9 minutes and 29 seconds
My soul was to speak, my knees got weak
That was long enough, I reckoned
Life was expelled while one man kneeled
9:29 to endure so much pain
Not a violent criminal, it was later revealed
What else is there to explain
9:29 with a knee the whole time
For God and the city street to see
Yet not a whisper in time could not stop the crime
Where's man's love, compassion, or mercy
Should a death sentence be sung, a death bell be rung
For passing a counterfeit bill?
9:29 is way too long for a death march song
A merciless, unforgettable kill
For 9:29 in time, God saw the crime
A body full of life now full of death
That 9:29 is a time that's truly unkind
Kneeling on a man's last breath.
So as I put the kneeler back, right on its track
I bow and make the sign of the cross
A merciless attack, it's white and it's black
But it's humanity that's at a REAL LOSS.
