Alien Ambassador

Once upon a time, an alien civilisation,
Received some news, with great anticipation.
They found a new planet in a far away galaxy,
Intelligent life on it, this was true not malarkey.

The leaders were constantly discussing what to do,
Arguing each other will they be friends or foe?
Should we just study them and stay out of sight,
Or send an ambassador, a move might risk a fight?

After a long debate a decision was born,
We need someone, if lost nobody would mourn.
They choose one within, right away sent him to school,
And sometimes later, he was trained on every tool.

Sent him on his way after a huge celebration,
His GPS programmed Earth as final destination.
I can see the planet now, he messaged home excited,
But didn't count on magnetic fields and thats where trouble started.

The pulse engine went offline the accident was imminent,
I cant believe I'm going down, he thought, I'm always so diligent.
For his kind, crashing the ship was a massive blow,
It was Nineteen forty-seven near Roswell New Mexico.
