Loneliness

My loneliness rattled the windows,

You told me I should go.

I sat in my room crying,

Feeling like a fool for fighting.

Fighting for us,

To make us work.

What you want,

I can’t get.

What you need,

I can’t be.

What you did,

I can’t forget.

Now I’m lost,

In a chain of regret.

You told me,

How worthless I can be.

You showed me,

How f*cked up I am.

You told me what you thought of me,

You hit me when you wanted.

You beat me,

You cheated on me,

You lied to me,

You used me.

And now I’m through,

Breaking my heart for you.

Author Notes: This is true. I was in an abusive relationship for a long time. And when he finally left me I thought it was over. But now he’s back and hanging around my little sister.
