I think a word other than 'goo' would have been better though for the human remains.
(Also, a couple of spelling mistakes like 'whale' instead of 'wail' - hope that's not being pernickety.....)

Shame about a few spelling mistakes like:
house being reprocessed instead of repossessed, or taught face instead of taut (Hope you don't think that is being pernickety)

I agree that this could be outstanding if developed further. Obviously, it seems a little confusing at first as we are bombarded with so many fantasy characters so quickly, but there is an awful lot of good stuff here to work with.... Please stick with it and tell us some more.....
